Pastor John T. Yancy is our Senior Pastor. He served in the U.S. Navy for 24 years and retired in 1994 . Pastor John studied at Southern Illinois University, Florida Junior, and Holy Spirit Bible College. He became licensed as a Minister while attending/serving under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Johnny Alston of Fertile Seed Outreach Ministries from 1996 - 2000. He was licensed as a Minister under the Pastoral Leadership of Pastor Carl Wiggins of Chapel of the Holy Spirit from 2000 - 2004. He was sent by God to Gateway Community Church, a multicultural, nondenominational congregation, and was ordained in 2004 as Associate Pastor under the Pastoral Leadership of Senior Pastor Dave Boyer. Praise God to Him be all the Glory! Pastor John served as Associate Pastor for 13 years until Pastor Boyer retired in 2017 at which time he was elected/installed as Senior Pastor in February 2017 and currently serves in that capacity. Pastor John has a heart for people, he loves sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he meets. He enjoys spending time with family and friends. He was a native of Clinton, Tennessee. God blessed him with his beautiful wife of 52 years, Althea Yancy of Oliver Springs, Tennessee. They were blessed with four daughters, eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
